Building something from nothing, that is what is makes my life intriguing. i always say, “this is my last restaurant, I can’t do another one”, and then my last restaurant child grows up, doesn’t need me anymore, and then i find myself without purpose. i must at all times, be useful, creative, and taking risks that i believe will impact people in a positive way. for better or worse, that’s what gets me out of bed.

The son of a nurse and a craftsman, terry got his start washing dishes and waiting tables to put himself through music school. That quickly led to bartending, cooking, and front of house management at ombi in nashville, a “criminally underrated” startup bistro in Nashville. from there, he opened his first restaurant Holland House, and immediately thereafter founded the pharmacy. terry sold the pharmacy in 2015 to fund amaranth hospitality, a dream group founded to explore passion projects and build brands with creative people.

Amaranth hospitality’s three founded operations grossed sales figures of over $19 million in 2019. armed With over 15 years of high-level operations experience, terry has branded, marketed, and operated five of Nashville’s most popular restaurants since 2007.
